Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the SnapMeal mobile application (the "App"), operated by RyTek ("we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account or using the App you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use the App. If you are between 13 and 18, you confirm that a parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.
2. Your account
When you create an account you agree to:
- Provide accurate information.
- Keep your login credentials secure.
- Be responsible for all activity on your account.
- Notify us promptly at support@rytek.app if you suspect unauthorized access.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, abuse the service, or attempt to circumvent our security measures.
3. The service
SnapMeal helps you track meals, calories, macronutrients, weight, water intake, and related habits. Features include AI-powered photo analysis, manual food entry, a barcode scanner, weight logging, meal reminders, and weekly insights.
We do our best to keep the App available and accurate, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service or error-free results.
4. Not medical or professional advice
SnapMeal is a tracking and informational tool. It is not a substitute for professional medical, nutritional, or health advice.
- Calorie and macronutrient estimates are approximations based on AI analysis and third-party nutrition databases. They may be inaccurate.
- Daily calorie and macro targets are calculated using common formulas and your self-reported profile data. They are estimates, not prescriptions.
- AI-written coaching insights are generated content and should not be treated as advice from a qualified professional.
Always consult a qualified healthcare provider, registered dietitian, or other licensed professional before making changes to your diet, exercise routine, or health regimen — especially if you have a medical condition, are pregnant or nursing, or are recovering from disordered eating.
If you are experiencing or recovering from an eating disorder, please consult a qualified professional before using calorie tracking apps. SnapMeal is not designed to support eating disorder recovery.
5. Subscriptions and payments
The App offers an optional Pro subscription that unlocks additional features such as unlimited photo analyses, full history access, weekly AI insights, and custom foods.
Free trial and billing
- Pro subscriptions may include a free trial period. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, your subscription will automatically convert to a paid subscription.
- Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period (monthly or annually) until you cancel.
- Payments are processed by Google Play (Android) or, in the future, the Apple App Store (iOS). Pricing, billing terms, and tax handling are governed by the platform you purchased through.
Cancellation and refunds
- You can cancel your subscription at any time through Google Play (Settings → Subscriptions) or the Apple App Store. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
- Refunds are handled by the platform you purchased through (Google Play or Apple), in accordance with their policies. We do not directly process refunds.
- Cancelling does not delete your account or your historical data.
Free tier limits
The free tier includes a limited number of AI photo analyses per month and limited history access. Specific limits are described in the App and may be adjusted over time.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the App for any unlawful purpose.
- Submit photos that contain illegal content, content that violates someone else's rights, or content that is sexually explicit, harassing, or harmful.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the App.
- Attempt to bypass paywalls, security controls, or rate limits.
- Use automated tools, scrapers, or bots to access the App or its underlying APIs.
- Interfere with the App's normal operation or attempt to overload our servers.
- Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity.
We may suspend or terminate access for violations.
7. Your content
You retain ownership of the photos and data you upload to the App. By uploading content, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and display that content as needed to provide the App's features (for example, sending a meal photo to our AI provider for analysis and showing it back to you in your meal history).
We do not claim ownership of your data and we do not use your content to train AI models.
8. Third-party services
The App relies on third-party services including Google Firebase, Anthropic (Claude API), FatSecret, Open Food Facts, and RevenueCat. Your use of features that depend on these services is also subject to those providers' terms. We are not responsible for outages, errors, or changes in those third-party services.

9. Intellectual property
The App, including its design, code, text, graphics, branding, and the SnapMeal and RyTek names and logos, is owned by RyTek and protected by intellectual property law. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms.
10. Disclaimers
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that:
- The App will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.
- Calorie, macronutrient, or other nutrition estimates will be accurate.
- AI-generated insights or coaching content will be correct, helpful, or appropriate for your situation.
- The App will meet your expectations or produce specific health, fitness, or weight outcomes.
You use the App at your own risk.
11. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, RYTEK AND ITS AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES — INCLUDING LOST PROFITS, LOST DATA, OR HEALTH-RELATED DAMAGES — ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE APP, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE APP WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE, OR (B) US$50.
Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations, so they may not apply to you.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless RyTek and its affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your violation of these Terms, your misuse of the App, or your violation of any law or third-party right.
13. Termination
You may stop using the App and delete your account at any time via Profile → Account deletion.
We may suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time, with or without notice, for violations of these Terms or for any other reason in our reasonable discretion. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and dispute resolution) will continue to apply.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you in the App and update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
15. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles.
Any dispute arising from or related to these Terms or the App will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in California, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts. To the extent permitted by law, you waive any right to participate in a class action or class-wide arbitration.
